ECONOMICAL POTENTIAL OF WIND ENERGY IN TÜRKIYE AND AN ASSESSMENT OF ITS COST DETERMINING FACTORS WITH ANALYSIS OF WIND ENERGY POLICIES’ EFFECTIVENESS

The investment in wind energy is very crucial to augment Turkey’s domestic energy resources especially, Turkey must increase the share of wind in domestic energy resources. In order to achieve this goal, there are several requirements, such as identification of available potential, getting technological know-how, obtaining technical equipment, making policies and legal regulations, realizing domestic production, and supplying finance as well as duly managing them as a whole. This thesis is based on interviews with major wind energy companies.
